As I showed earlier today in my Flickr-stream, I’m a big fan of Fluid. I’m also a big fan of Instapaper. After seeing Jon Hicks’ Helvetireader, I wanted to experiment a bit with the possibilities of Fluid.

Returning from a much needed holiday, I found Twitterrific was returning more then the usual 20 latest tweets. “A glitch in the Twittix” was my first thought. When I woke up the next day, I had 64 new tweets. I suddenly realized: Twitter had finally taken away the API-limit of returning only the last 20 entries.
“Thank you for your purchase.” That’s the default message you get after buying a product online. It’s boring, and it makes me go “Fuck, I just spent money!” You would almost think it’s the hard-coded message inside the majority of shopping software. Luckily, there are a couple of brands that do know how to talk to their new customers, and probable sealing a future relation with them at the same time.
Almost 6 months ago, I quit my day job and started my own little one-man business. I’ve been enjoying every second of being my own boss. Despite pulling all-nighters to meet deadlines, choosing which projects to accept and which to decline, and having a lot more responsibility, freelancing is an incredible fun way of living. Here are a couple of things I learned so far, and wished I had known from the start.
